If you would like to get involved with Children’s Week (Torbay) we are always keen to make new friends and gain new people. We are all volunteers at Children’s Week (Torbay) – some offer a few hours a year and others hold positions on our official Committee with key responsibilities, while the whole organisation is overseen by our Trustees who make the big decisions.

We have a group of regular volunteers who donate their time when they can, but we always need more, and the more people we have, the less work for all and the more fun to be had!

Volunteers are absolutely vital to our organisation and a key component of our ethos as we are especially keen to develop that community spirit and support the community. Volunteering brings such reward in itself, gaining new skills and experience and seeing the joy your efforts bring, and it also looks good on college applications, CVs and job interviews too.

Our volunteers cover a multi-tude of tasks as we support multiple Community Activities over the year but also have our own Main Event every August for a week on Paignton Green. We need willing people to help: set up tents and equipment; take entries for competitions; monitor crowds for safety; safety spot our mascot avatars; sell raffle tickets, T-shirts and snow cones; sort out our storage containers; maintain our equipment; help in arts and crafts; fetch and carry; litter pick; learn crazy games and silly dances; but most of all, we need volunteers who will do the work but also smile and have fun!

We take our roles very seriously due to our interaction with children and families so all our volunteers over the age of 18 are put through a DBS check to safeguard our attendees and our organisation.

So, if you have a few hours to spare or would like to become more regularly involved please contact us via: info@childrensweek.co.uk

Thank you!
